Yufan Wang is a vocal lecturer at Fujian Vocational College of Art and a PhD candidate at the University of York's School of Arts and Creative Technologies. Their research focuses on Western opera's reception in Mainland China, combining historical analysis with empirical studies of audience perceptions. Currently supervised by Áine Sheil and Caroline Waddington-Jones, their work explores how Chinese artists reinterpret Western operatic traditions through performances and language adaptations.
