Yue Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurobiology at Northwestern University’s Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences. Their research focuses on chromatin mechanisms governing neural circuit development and refinement, particularly in the mouse cerebellum. Yang holds a Ph.D. from Harvard Medical School and has been recognized with prestigious awards including the Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Postdoctoral Training Grant and the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
Research Interests:
- Developmental and Activity-Dependent Remodeling of Chromatin Architecture
- Epigenetic Regulation of Neural Circuits
- Cerebellar Circuits in Motor Learning
Publications highlight advancements in understanding how chromatin dynamics shape motor behavior and neural coding. Techniques employed include optogenetics, in vivo imaging, and single-cell sequencing. Awards span postdoctoral, graduate, and undergraduate achievements, reflecting sustained excellence in neuroscience research.
Advising and Grants: While no specific advisees or grants are listed, the Yang laboratory actively employs postdocs and graduate students. Research tools include advanced molecular and systems neuroscience methodologies. The lab’s location is Pancoe 1-119.
