Dr. Yue Qian is a Professor of Sociology at the University of British Columbia (Faculty of Arts), focusing on gender, family, work, and inequality in global contexts. Her research spans assortative mating, occupational segregation, and migration dynamics, with significant work on the social and mental health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. She has published over 60 articles in top-tier journals like Nature Human Behaviour and PNAS.
