Yue Meng is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto, specializing in the environmental humanities and the cultural history of environmental science and technology. Her research bridges historical and contemporary themes in Chinese literature, urban culture, and the history of science.

Her scholarly work includes the upcoming monograph The Land Reveals: Tracing Environmental Science in 20th Century China, alongside significant publications such as Shanghai and Edges of Empire (University of Minnesota, 2006) and Emerging from Horizon of History: Modern Chinese Women’s Literature (Peking University, 2023). Her research explores intersections between environmentalism, historical narratives, and urban development in modern China.
