Yue Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) & Emory University. He leads the Biomedical Mechatronics (BM2) Lab, focusing on designing, modeling, and controlling medical robotic systems such as continuum robots, concentric tube robots, tendon-driven robots, and soft robotics.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Vanderbilt University
- M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University
- B.S. in Vehicle Engineering, Hunan University
His research spans bioengineering, biotechnology, human augmentation, and soft robotics, with applications in atrial fibrillation treatment, surgical robotics, and delicate fruit harvesting. The lab develops MRI-safe robotic systems and human-centered designs for clinical and industrial use.
