Yuan Huang

Yuan Huang is Senior Lecturer in Operations Management at the University of York's School for Business and Society. Her research focuses on Operations Management Practice Contingency Research (OM PCR), examining how operations theories interact with complex social systems across healthcare, manufacturing, and emergency services.

Research interests span human-centered operations, supply chain resilience, additive manufacturing applications, and healthcare process improvement. Current projects investigate resilience in mountain rescue operations and workload control in emergency departments.

Publications predominantly address production planning (40%), supply chain dynamics (30%), and emerging technologies in operations (30%), with recent emphasis on last-mile logistics automation and pandemic impacts on sharing economies.
