Simon Nadeem is a Senior Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the College of Business, Law and Social Sciences. His research focuses on sustainable supply chain practices, circular economy implementation, and operational resilience in diverse industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and agriculture. Collaborating with institutions globally, he explores how technology (e.g., IoT, blockchain) and frameworks like C-LEAN can improve supply chain sustainability and efficiency.
His work emphasizes challenges in manufacturing SMEs, particularly in developing economies such as Ethiopia and Rwanda, addressing issues like traceability in food supply chains and vaccine logistics. He also investigates the impact of Industry 4.0 technologies and the role of resilient strategies during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic and economic sanctions.
Key research themes include circular economy adoption barriers, environmental performance measurement, and lean manufacturing integration. His studies often combine empirical analysis with bibliometric reviews to identify trends and gaps in sustainability research.
