Yu Meng

Yu Meng is a Researcher at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ), Department of Compound Environmental Risks (CER), within the Smart Models and Monitoring unit. Her research focuses on compound weather and climate events, particularly their relevance to renewable energy sectors. She completed her PhD under Prof. Jakob Zscheischler and Dr. Emanuele Bevacqua, studying compound events using CMIP6 models. Her work addresses multivariate bias corrections, large ensemble simulations, and climate-energy system interactions. Yu Meng’s research contributes to understanding extreme event dynamics and their implications for environmental sustainability.

Key projects include analysis of compound dry-warm and wet-warm events, multivariate bias corrections for climate models, and projections of compound wind-precipitation extremes. She has published in high-impact journals like Global and Planetary Change and Environmental Research Letters. Yu Meng collaborates with the Compound Environmental Risks team, contributing to environmental informatics and climate modeling efforts.
