Yousef Hamdan serves as an Associate Professor of Modern Arabic Literature and Literary Criticism within the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Jordan. Additionally, he has held a part-time instructor position at the Middlebury School in Jordan since 2016, teaching courses on Modern Arabic Literature and Jordanian Movies.
He completed his doctoral studies at the University of Edinburgh, specializing in Modern Arabic Literary Criticism.
Dr. Hamdan's research centers on contemporary Arabic literary production and critical theory, with particular focus on narrative evolution in Modern Arabic Literature and the intersection of literary criticism with Jordanian cinematic expressions. His scholarly work examines socio-cultural representations through both textual and visual media in the Jordanian context.
