معرفی
Professor Young-Shin Jun is a faculty member at the McKelvey School of Engineering, Washington University in St. Louis, leading the Environmental NanoChemistry Laboratory. Her work focuses on nanoscale interfacial chemistry to address energy and environmental challenges, including CO2 sequestration, resource recovery, and water purification. She holds degrees from Harvard University and Ewha Womans University.
- PhD, Harvard University (2005)
- SM, Harvard University (2003)
- MS/BS, Ewha Womans University (1999/1997)
Her research spans three core areas: energy-related chemical systems (e.g., hydrogen storage), sustainable resource recovery (critical elements, phosphorus recycling), and advanced nanomaterials for water treatment. She has pioneered methods to mitigate environmental pollutants while advancing clean energy technologies.
Recent work highlights include studies on nanopore dynamics and carbon mineralization, published in 2025. Her awards reflect her leadership in environmental science and engineering.
- Recipient of AAAS Fellowship (2025)
- ACS Committee on Science Chair
Jun advises initiatives like Washington University’s NOBCChE chapter and serves on editorial boards of journals such as ACS ES&T: Engineering and RSC Advances.
