Young-Kee Kim is the Louis Block Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago, affiliated with the Department of Physics, Enrico Fermi Institute, and College of Physical Science. She serves as Senior Advisor to the Provost for Global Scientific Initiatives, enhancing the University’s international scientific footprint.
- Research focus: understanding the origin of mass in fundamental particles (W boson, top quark, Higgs boson).
- Principal Investigator (PI) of the University’s accelerator research group.
- Current work on the ATLAS experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
