معرفی
Dr. Young-Eun Cho is an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa, specializing in biomarker research related to obesity, cardiovascular complications, and extracellular vesicles (EVs). Her work integrates molecular biology, genomics, and clinical studies to explore EV cargo in kidney transplant recipients, breast cancer survivors, and maternal-infant health.
- Postdoc: University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine & NIH
- PhD: Yonsei University College of Medicine
- BSN: Yonsei University College of Nursing
Dr. Cho's research focuses on EVs as mediators of intercellular communication, particularly in obesity-related weight gain post-kidney transplantation and maternal EVs' impact on childhood obesity. She employs omics methodologies (mRNA, miRNA, DNA methylation) to identify biomarkers in PTSD, TBI, and stroke patients.
Her recent publications highlight EVs' roles in sleep-amyloid β interactions, endothelial protection via breast milk, and miRNA responses to dietary interventions. At the University of Iowa, her lab (MedLab building) investigates maternal EVs from placenta and breastmilk to combat childhood obesity.
