Yoo-Mi Chin serves as Associate Professor of Economics at Baylor University and Associate Director of the Baylor Business Fellows program, having joined Baylor in 2014 after previously holding an Assistant Professor position at Missouri University of Science and Technology.

As an applied microeconomist, Dr. Chin's research integrates labor economics, development economics, and health economics to address critical global challenges including intimate partner violence, HIV/AIDS impacts, child labor, substance abuse, and mental health disparities. Her methodological approach emphasizes empirical analysis of policy interventions in developing regions.
Her publication portfolio demonstrates consistent focus on longitudinal socioeconomic impacts, particularly examining how traumatic events like genocide and pandemics affect vulnerable populations.
