معرفی
Yong Wang is a Professor of Structural Engineering at the University of Manchester. He holds a BA and PhD from the University of Sheffield and is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers. His research focuses on structural and fire engineering, steel composites, fire protection materials, and sustainable materials. He leads the Structural & Fire Engineering research theme and serves as a Visiting Chair Professor at Tsinghua University.
Education: BEng from South West Jiao Tong University (1984), PhD in Structural Engineering from the University of Sheffield (1988).
Research Interests include fire engineering (e.g., intumescent coatings, CFD modeling), structural analysis (steel composites, impact resistance), and sustainable construction materials. His work addresses fire safety, material performance under thermal stress, and recycling of construction materials.
Recent publications highlight innovations in fire-resistant materials, structural behavior under extreme conditions, and sustainable practices like waste glass utilization. Awards include the Henry Adam Award (2011, 2015) and the Thomas Telford Premium (1990).
He leads the GRACE project on carbon fiber recycling and serves on editorial boards for journals like Engineering Structures. His work contributes to UN SDGs related to sustainable infrastructure and resource efficiency.
