Dr. Yolanda Grift is an Assistant Professor in Applied Economics at Utrecht University's School of Economics. She has been affiliated with Utrecht University since 1985, following her econometrics degree from the University of Amsterdam. Dr. Grift specializes in labor market economics, migration studies, and economics education. She serves as coordinator for the first-year Mathematics course and teaches econometrics at both bachelor's and master's levels. Her research spans labor market mobility, institutions for collective action, and higher education pedagogy, with significant contributions to understanding works councils in the Netherlands and Germany.
Dr. Grift's research interests focus on applied microeconometrics, labor market dynamics, and migration. She examines how employee participation affects organizational outcomes and investigates educational pathways in secondary schools. Her work combines theoretical frameworks with empirical data analysis, particularly using Stata and SPSS.
