Yoav Beirach is a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (MPIWG), affiliated with the Max Planck Working Group 'Experience in the Premodern Sciences of Soul and Body.' His research focuses on early modern history of science and philosophy, particularly the interplay between timekeeping, music theory, and epistemology.
- PhD and MA in Philosophy from Tel Aviv University
- Postdoctoral stints at Safra Center for Ethics (2021–22), Technion, and Cohn Institute for History and Philosophy of Science (2022–23)
Beirach's work bridges disciplines like linguistics, ethics, and the history of philosophy, with a current project on isochronism in premodern Europe. His recent publication examines Leibniz's engagement with artisanal knowledge and geometry.
He is actively involved in the ERC-funded 'NOTCOM: Science and Consensus in the 17th Century' project at the Maison française d’Oxford as an associate researcher.
