Yixue Lou is a Grant researcher and doctoral degree holder in the Department of Psychology at the University of Jyväskylä, within the Faculty of Education and Psychology. Their research focuses on the interaction between cognition, emotion, and mental health, particularly in the context of depression and self-evaluation. They utilize neuroimaging and psychophysiological methods to study brain responses in dysphoric individuals and control groups.
Research interests include cognitive neuroscience, self-knowledge, emotional regulation, and the neural mechanisms underlying mental health issues. Their work spans topics such as neural activity during self-evaluation, face processing, and the effects of feedback on emotional experiences.
Publications highlight contributions to understanding depression’s neural correlates, implicit self-esteem, and the composite face effect. The Active Mind Lab, where Lou is affiliated, studies brain processing of communication through speech and facial expressions, aiming to enhance learning and teaching effectiveness.
