Yiwei WANG, PhD is a Research Fellow in the Damsky Lab at the Yale School of Medicine. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (2021) and a BSc in Biotechnology from Jilin University (2017). His research focuses on microbiome dynamics, immunology, and their implications in dermatological and systemic diseases.
Key research interests include the role of gut microbiome in allergic diseases, immune checkpoint inhibitors in cancer therapy, and spatial transcriptomics in cutaneous disorders. Collaborations with William Damsky, Erica Hwang, and others highlight interdisciplinary work across immunology, genomics, and clinical medicine.
Recent work includes studies on Retrorsine-induced DNA repair mechanisms, seminal microbiome dysbiosis in male infertility, and proteomic profiling of post-COVID-19 cardiopulmonary syndromes. Publications span PNAS Nexus, Journal of Investigative Dermatology, and Med, emphasizing translational research at the intersection of microbiology and immunology.
