Yiwei WANG is a Research Fellow in the Damsky Lab at the Yale School of Medicine's Department of Dermatology. Their research focuses on the role of the microbiome in immune-mediated diseases, including atopic dermatitis, cancer, and post-viral syndromes. WANG holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (2021) and a BSc in Biotechnology from Jilin University (2017).
Key research interests include gut microbiota dynamics, immune checkpoint modulation in cancer therapy, and transcriptomic/proteomic profiling of skin disorders. Collaborations with William Damsky, Erica Hwang, and others have produced studies on spatial transcriptomics in granulomatous disorders and probiotic effects on atopic dermatitis.
Recent work highlights the use of advanced genomic techniques to explore dysbiosis in male infertility, PASC syndrome pathophysiology, and regulatory mechanisms in alopecia areata. Their publications span high-impact journals in immunology, microbiology, and dermatology.
