Yitzhak Fried is the Trinity Professor of Management at the Rawls College of Business, Texas Tech University. He holds a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an MA from Tel Aviv University, and a BA from Bar-Ilan University. His research focuses on contextual influences in work stress, job design, diversity, and cross-cultural management. Fried has held tenured positions at Wayne State University (1985–2004) and Syracuse University (2004–2015) before joining Texas Tech in 2015.
His research has been published in top-tier journals such as Academy of Management Review and Journal of Applied Psychology. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and Society of Organizational Behavior. His work emphasizes the interplay between organizational practices, cultural contexts, and employee well-being.
Fried’s educational background includes degrees in psychology and organizational behavior. His research methodologies span meta-analyses, cross-cultural studies, and longitudinal field research. His current projects explore generational differences in work values, DEI program effectiveness, and multinational company HR practices.
He advises no listed students but has collaborated on numerous international research initiatives. His work is supported by grants focused on global workforce dynamics and organizational fairness. Fried is affiliated with Texas Tech’s Center for Global Management and contributes to editorial boards of key journals in industrial-organizational psychology.
