Dr. Yishuang Xu is a Senior Lecturer in Real Estate at the University of Manchester, contributing expertise in real estate economics, finance, and sustainability. She previously served as an Assistant Professor at Capital University of Economics and Business and as a researcher at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her doctoral studies (PhD in Real Estate, University of Hong Kong, 2012) laid the foundation for her research career.
Dr. Xu’s research focuses on REITs, retail asset management, market efficiency, and sustainable development, with recent expansions into blockchain applications and ESG investing. She has advised on policy matters as an external examiner at Liverpool John Moores University since 2022 and co-leads The Manchester Real Estate and Urban Economics (MREUE) research group.
Her teaching portfolio includes courses like Real Estate Investment and Finance, Strategic Asset Management, and Advanced Real Estate Finance at Manchester. She holds a Fellow of Advance HE qualification (2020) and employs mixed-methods approaches in her work.
Awarded for her academic contributions, Dr. Xu has received the Best PhD Proposal Award (2010) and a Travel Award for PhD students (2010). Her research frequently addresses UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in areas of sustainability and education.
