Chen Zheng is an Associate Professor of Finance in the School of Management at the University of Bath, specializing in Corporate Finance, Real Estate Finance, and Urban Economics. She is affiliated with the Management Accounting, Finance & Law department and is actively involved in research, teaching, and doctoral supervision.
Her research spans corporate deals (IPOs, M&As), real estate investment trusts (REITs), commercial real estate valuation, and the role of network capital in urban development. She employs interdisciplinary approaches to link financial mechanisms with societal and economic challenges, particularly in the context of China and global urban systems.
The recent articles reflect a strong trend in analyzing financial structures within real estate and urban economies, using network analysis, valuation models, and empirical studies of market behavior. Her work frequently examines the impact of ownership, location, concentration, and capital flows on economic performance.
