Ying Wu is an Assistant Professor of Chinese and Chair of Asian Studies at Lake Forest College's Modern Languages and Literatures Department. She specializes in Sociolinguistics, Chinese Linguistics, and Business Chinese, with a focus on language pedagogy and cultural translation.
Education:
- PhD in Applied Linguistics, Purdue University
- MA in Chinese Linguistics, Beijing Normal University
- BA in English Language and Literature, Shaanxi Normal University
Research Interests: Dr. Wu’s work emphasizes pragmatic language use in Chinese, including greetings and farewells in intercultural communication. She develops innovative teaching methods for Chinese as a second language, integrating games and technology into the classroom.
