معرفی
Ying Deng serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of South Dakota, Sioux Falls, where she has held faculty positions since 2008. Her academic journey includes postdoctoral research at Tsinghua University (2001-2003) and Rice University (2004-2007).
Her research focuses on Tissue Engineering, antimicrobial materials, and biomaterials development, with specific emphasis on creating orthopedic implants that resist bacterial infection while promoting bone growth, and nanofibrous scaffolds for spinal disc repair. Current projects address critical challenges in medical device-related infections through innovative material science approaches.
Professor Deng leads active NSF EPSCoR grants (2019-2024) for bioengineering innovation and multicellular life research. Her publication record includes significant contributions to biofilm research in medical devices and localized drug delivery systems, reflecting consistent expertise in biomaterials science despite limited recent publications listed in the source material.
She teaches graduate courses in Tissue Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, along with undergraduate Biomedical Technology courses, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical medical applications through her experimental design expertise.
