Dr. Yina Liang is a Lecturer in Accounting at the School of Management, Swansea University, a position she has held since September 2023. Prior to joining Swansea, she served as an Assistant Professor at Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics for three years.
Her academic credentials include:
- PhD in Accounting from the University of Exeter (2019)
- MSc in Economics, Accounting and Finance from the University of Bristol
- BSc in Banking and Finance from Monash University, Australia
Dr. Liang's research focuses on pension accounting, earnings management, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors, corporate finance, and unemployment benefits. Her scholarly work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in financial systems and social policy interfaces.
Her recent publication in the British Journal of Management examines how labor market policies interact with pension investment strategies, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach to financial research.
Dr. Liang secured research funding of ¥200,000 (£23,529) from the National Social Science Fund of China for her project on green finance innovation (2019-2023) and presented her findings at the BAFA Annual Conference 2024 at the University of Portsmouth.
She teaches undergraduate modules MN-1021 Accounting for Economics and MN-2573 Principles of Financial Accounting, and is available for postgraduate supervision of PhD candidates in her areas of expertise.
