Yin Xiao

Professor Yin Xiao is a distinguished academic and researcher at Griffith University's School of Medicine and Dentistry, appointed as a tenured Distinguished Professor since 2022. He also holds an Adjunct Professor position at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) until 2026. His research focuses on bone regeneration, biomaterials, stem cells, osteoimmunology, and tissue engineering, where he pioneered the concept of osteoimmunology and introduced "Materiobiology" in QUT's M. Phil courses. He has authored over 340 journal papers, three books, and 23 book chapters, with an H-index of 73 and more than 20,000 citations.

His work integrates machine learning for biomaterial design and focuses on the interplay between immune responses and tissue repair.

Professor Xiao has received recognition as one of Australia's top 250 researchers and was named a field leader in Biomedical Technology by Australian Research Magazine in 2019 and 2021. He leads significant grants, including an NHMRC Ideas Grant for "Smart bone healing gel" and collaborations with ARC and Osteology Foundation.
