Yijie Jiang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering at The University of Oklahoma. His research focuses on 3D printing, finite element analysis, sustainable manufacturing, functional composites, and interface science. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania (2017, 2013) and a B.S. in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Fudan University, China (2011).
Key research areas include advanced composites for sustainable manufacturing, additive manufacturing techniques, and piezoelectric sensor integration. He has received the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award (2020-2021) and has authored numerous publications on topics like 3D-printed sensors, nanocomposites, and biomechanical modeling.
His recent work emphasizes functional materials and their applications in energy absorption, structural health monitoring, and smart devices. Collaborations include projects with Oak Ridge Associated Universities and institutions like University of North Texas (UNT), where he served as an Assistant Professor from 2019–2023.
