Yichun Qiu

Yichun Qiu is a Research Fellow in the Department of Plant Reproductive Biology and Epigenetics at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology in Potsdam, Germany, working under Prof. Köhler's leadership within Department 2.

Dr. Qiu's research program investigates epigenetic mechanisms governing plant reproduction, with core emphases on endosperm evolution, functional diversification of Type I MADS-box transcription factors through gene duplication events, and genomic imprinting phenomena. This work bridges molecular genetics, evolutionary biology, and epigenetics to elucidate fundamental processes in plant developmental biology.
