Yichen (Kelly) Chen is affiliated with the University of Cambridge's Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP), contributing to the Centre for Mathematical Imaging in Healthcare. Her research focuses on interdisciplinary applications of mathematics and physics in healthcare, including thermal imaging for security, federated learning methodologies, and immunology risk prediction. She has collaborated on projects involving neural networks, medical data analysis, and stem cell modeling.
Her work bridges applied mathematics and clinical challenges, addressing topics such as non-contact thermal imaging systems, automated object detection via infrared thermography, and pitfalls in immunotherapy-related pneumonitis studies. She has also contributed to foundational studies on human pluripotent stem cells' role in modeling neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s.
Key collaborations include partnerships with institutions like the BloodCounts! consortium and involve advancements in privacy-preserving healthcare technologies.
