معرفی
Dr. Yi Sun is an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at Gordon College, School of Science and Health. She holds a B.S. from Beijing Sport University, a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her research focuses on preserving health and independence in older adults through translational studies involving exercise physiology, biological aging, gut microbiome, and pharmacology. Using human and rodent models, her work aims to improve quality of life through interdisciplinary approaches.
- Education:
- B.S., Beijing Sport University
- Ph.D., University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
- Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Alabama at Birmingham
- Research Interests: Exercise and immunity, gut-brain axis, probiotic interventions, age-related physical and cognitive decline prevention.
Her research highlights the synergistic effects of exercise and probiotics in mitigating age-related health decline. Articles emphasize mechanisms linking microbiome, exercise, and aging, with studies on angiotensin (1-7)-expressing probiotics, HIIT training, and pharmacological agents. Collaborative work spans multiple disciplines, including microbiology, pharmacology, and neuroscience.
Notable trends in her publications include investigating probiotic-based therapies, the role of exercise in immunity and inflammation, and leveraging rodent models to explore translational interventions for human aging. Dr. Sun’s work often bridges basic science and clinical applications, aiming to translate findings into practical health solutions for older adults.
