Dr. Yi Shen is a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge, Department of Chemistry, affiliated with the Cambridge Global Food Security research center. His work intersects food security, nanotechnology, and biomaterials research.
- Education: PhD in Health Science and Technology (ETH Zurich, 2017), Bachelor and two Master degrees (Wageningen University), with internships at Harvard and Princeton Universities.
- Research Focus: Development of organic-inorganic hybrid biomaterials for nutritional applications, including amyloid fibril-based gels with calcium nanoparticles, and biofluid manipulation in microfluidic devices for food systems.
