Dr. Yi Ding is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), affiliated with the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science. His research focuses on Cyber-Physical Systems, Mobile Computing, and Machine Learning. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota (2022), and M.S. and B.S. degrees from Zhejiang University (2016 and 2013).
Dr. Ding has received notable recognition, including the IEEE RTSS Outstanding Paper Award (2021) and the CPS Rising Star Award (2021). Prior to joining UTD, he served as a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT (2022–2023). His professional roles include Associate Editor for ACM IMWUT and committee memberships in conferences like ACM MobiSys and IEEE Cloud Summit.
His research emphasizes efficient last-mile delivery systems, mobile application optimization, and reinforcement learning for cyber-physical coordination. His work integrates machine learning techniques with real-world deployment challenges, such as illegal parking prediction and large-scale sensor networks.
