Dr. Yesim Tozan is an Associate Professor at NYU's School of Global Public Health, specializing in health economics and infectious disease control. Her research focuses on cost-effectiveness analyses of healthcare interventions in low- and middle-income countries, with emphasis on dengue and malaria prevention. She currently leads EU-funded projects on dengue surveillance in Sri Lanka/Thailand and a multi-center study on dengue costs in international travelers.
Her research explores health decision science, resource allocation frameworks, and economic evaluations of artemisinin-based therapies for childhood malaria. She served on the UN Millennium Project's Task Force on HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and Tuberculosis, authoring key policy reports.
Recent publications demonstrate her interdisciplinary approach spanning health economics, epidemiology, and climate impacts on disease transmission. Work consistently addresses healthcare disparities through quantitative modeling and intervention evaluation across global contexts including Uganda, Mozambique, and India.
