Yelin Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY), leading the Inspire Lab for Interaction Sensing and Perception in Real Environment.
Her research focuses on:
- machine learning
- multimodal signal processing
- affective media analysis
- human-machine interaction
She quantifies nonverbal behavioral cues (vocal changes, facial expressions, body gestures) to analyze human behavior in real-world interactions using techniques from machine learning, computer vision, and behavioral science.
