Mohammad Soleymani is an Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Southern California, with dual affiliations at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies and the Viterbi School of Engineering. He directs the Intelligent Human Perception Lab and teaches CSCI-535: Multimodal Learning of Human Communication in Spring 2024.
His research spans Affective Computing, Multimodal Machine Learning, and Social Signal Processing, focusing on emotion recognition, non-verbal behavior sensing, and virtual agent development for mental health applications. His recent publications at CVPR 2025, ICCV 2025, and ICML 2024 highlight advancements in Facial Expression Analysis and Generative AI for social interaction modeling.
