Mohammad Soleymani is a Research Fellow at the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences and the Department of Computer Science, University of Geneva, Switzerland. He leads the Multimedia Affective Analysis group within the Computer Vision and Multimedia Laboratory (CVML). His primary affiliation is with the Swiss NSF Ambizione fellowship program. Previously, he was a Marie Curie Fellow at Imperial College London (2012–2014).

Research Interests: Focuses on emotion recognition, affective computing, and multimodal analysis. His work integrates cognitive appraisal theory, brain-face interaction studies, and emotional analysis in multimedia, including music. He develops tools for implicit emotional tagging and visual interest assessment, leveraging interdisciplinary approaches across computer science and neuroscience.
Professional Contributions: Served as Program Chair for ICMI 2018 and ACII 2017. Editor for IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing and guest editor for multiple journals. Active in organizing workshops at major conferences (ACM MM, ICCV, CVPR) and chairs for MediaEval benchmarking initiatives.
