Yehia Ibrahim is a Chemist and Team Leader of the Instrument Development and Deployment team within the Integrative Omics group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). He joined PNNL in 2005 as a postdoctoral researcher and has since become a leading expert in mass spectrometry and ion mobility technologies. His work has resulted in significant commercial applications, including the development of the 6560 IMS-QTOF platform now licensed by Agilent Technologies.
Ibrahim's research focuses on advanced analytical techniques, particularly Structures for Lossless Ion Manipulations (SLIM) technology, which enables ultra-high resolution ion mobility separations. His work bridges chemistry, physics, and biology to solve complex analytical challenges in proteomics and metabolomics. He has pioneered techniques for analyzing biomolecules with unprecedented sensitivity and resolution, enabling new discoveries in cancer research and metabolomics.
His publication record reveals a strong focus on improving ion mobility separation techniques, with recent work emphasizing applications in biological systems, isomer separation, and instrument development. The research spans fundamental physics of ion manipulation to practical applications in disease research and biomarker discovery.
