Lee Williams

Lee Williams is a Senior Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Sunderland. His expertise centers on instrumental analytical chemistry, hyphenated techniques, and quantitative mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS, GC-QqQ-MS, CE-QToF-MS) for analyzing complex samples.

• Research focus on metabolomics/lipidomics for prostate cancer, glioblastoma, and atherosclerosis biomarkers
• Collaboration with BrewLab UK on yeast and brewing product analysis
• Designed analytical chemistry lab for undergraduate/postgraduate students

His teaching spans fundamental and advanced analytical techniques (UV, MS, NMR, chromatography) across BSc (Hons) Biopharmaceutical Science, MPharm, and MSc Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical Formulations courses. He also contributes to the Royal Society of Chemistry's Separation Science group by organizing conferences and sponsoring summer research placements.
