Yehang Lu is a Doctoral Researcher at the Sheffield University Management School (SUMS), focusing on the role of sports investment in promoting sustainable urban governance. Since joining SUMS in February 2025, his research examines economic, social, and environmental impacts of sports infrastructure in Shanghai, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

His interdisciplinary work bridges urban governance, sports economics, and sustainability, utilizing mixed-methods research with government reports, surveys, interviews, and focus groups. Lu is affiliated with the Behavioural Research for Inclusivity, Sustainability and Technological Transformation (BRISTT) group.
Supervised by Dr. Lien Le Monkhouse (Lecturer in Marketing) and Dr. Olga Cam (Lecturer in Accounting and Financial Management), Lu aims to contribute data-driven policy recommendations to urban planners and sports organizations.
