Ye Wang

Dr. Ye Wang is a Research Fellow in the Solar Thermal Group at the ANU College of Systems & Society. She holds a PhD from ANU (2019), a Master's from Beihang University (China), and a Bachelor's from Shanghai University of Electric Power (China). Prior to her current role, she worked as a Teaching Fellow in Thermodynamics Engineering at Tianjin University.

Her research focuses on engineering thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and concentrating solar thermal technology. Key interests include solar thermal receiver design, optical modeling, radiative heat transfer, and camera-based measurements. Current student projects explore flux variation in receivers, contingency analysis in system design, and feasibility of integrated PV-CSP systems. Available projects include camera-based reflection measurements and surrogate modeling for Monte Carlo ray tracing.

Dr. Wang has been recognized with the ANU Solar Thesis Prize (2019), awarded by the ACT Minister for Environment. Her work spans theoretical and applied research, with a strong emphasis on solar energy innovation and system optimization. She contributes to the development of high-temperature solar thermal systems, including particle-based CSP technologies and bladed receiver designs.

Advising and grants: Dr. Wang supervises students in solar thermal engineering and collaborates on projects involving receiver optimization, system modeling, and techno-economic analysis. Her research often integrates experimental testing and computational modeling to address challenges in renewable energy systems.
