Dr. Yavuz Turkan is a Lecturer at Bingöl University's Institute of Social Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, within the Business Department's Accounting and Finance Science Branch. He completed his undergraduate studies in Accounting and Finance Education at Gazi University in 2007 with honors. He also earned a second undergraduate degree in Public Administration from Anadolu University in 2008. He pursued his master's and doctoral studies in Accounting and Finance at Atatürk University's Social Sciences Institute, completing his master's in 2011 and his PhD in 2014. Dr. Turkan began his academic career as a Research Assistant at Bingöl University in 2009 and was promoted to Lecturer in 2014.

He has published extensively on topics including the relationship between Islamic and conventional financial markets, liquidity management in interest-free banking, and the impact of marketing on consumer perception of Islamic financial institutions. His recent work (2022-2024) has increasingly addressed emerging areas such as Islamic fintech applications and the intersection of Islamic finance with cryptocurrency markets.
