Yasser Ali Nasser

Yasser Ali Nasser is an Assistant Professor in the Department of World History at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research specializes in Cold War transnational history, with a focus on East and South Asia, particularly China and India. Dr. Nasser’s work examines the interplay between nationalism and internationalism in postcolonial societies, analyzing how grassroots movements and state-led initiatives shaped regional and global politics.

His current book manuscript investigates the rise and fall of India-China friendship in the 1950s, highlighting how citizen-driven aspirations for mutual learning challenged Cold War bloc politics.
