Yasir Ibrahim is an Associate Professor of Religion at Montclair State University, affiliated with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. He holds a PhD in Religion and Islamic Studies from Princeton University. His research focuses on comparative religion, modern religious reform, Islamic legal theory, and Qur’anic studies. He teaches courses such as Religions of the World, Islamic Ethics and Law, and Jihad in Early Islamic History. His scholarship includes articles in Studia Islamica, Journal of Islamic Studies, and a book analyzing war and peace in early Islamic history. He is currently working on The Art of Qur’anic Recitation between Tradition and Reform.
