معرفی
Prof. Yasin Fahjan is a Professor at the Civil Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University, specializing in Structural Dynamics, Numerical Modeling, and Earthquake Engineering. His academic journey includes roles as Associate Professor at Gebze Technical University and Assistant Professor at Gebze Institute of High Technology. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Boğaziçi University, complemented by earlier degrees from Eastern Mediterranean University.
His research focuses on seismic behavior analysis, structural dynamics, and earthquake-resistant design. Key projects include evaluating earthquake performance of historical timber structures using nonlinear finite element methods, modeling near-field earthquake ground motion, and developing rapid disaster management frameworks for industrial zones. He has contributed to TUBITAK-funded projects on probabilistic ground motion synthesis and steel tank seismic behavior.
Prof. Fahjan has served as an editor for the Natural Disasters and Environment Journal and participated in AFAD’s earthquake early warning systems. His work integrates computational modeling with real-world applications, aiming to enhance disaster resilience in urban and industrial contexts.
