Yap Chuan Sheng is a Lecturer in the Pharmacy Practice Discipline at the School of Pharmacy, Monash University. He holds a Master of Clinical Pharmacy from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) from UCSI University. Previously, he worked as a pharmacist at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan and taught clinical pharmacy at UCSI University's Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is a registered pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board Malaysia and a life member of the Malaysian Pharmacologists Society.
His research focuses on pharmacy practice, public health, and tropical diseases. Notable areas include medication therapy adherence, antimicrobial stewardship, counterfeit medicine issues, and digital health solutions for aging populations. He has collaborated on studies addressing polycystic ovary syndrome awareness, vancomycin dosing in dialysis patients, and mobile health applications for elderly care.
Yap actively participates in academic activities such as organizing the 2024 Critical Appraisal of Health Economic Evaluation workshop. His work aligns with UN SDGs related to good health and well-being (SDG 3), quality education (SDG 4), and sustainable cities (SDG 11).
