Yang Yuanjian

Professor Yang Yuanjian is a Doctoral Supervisor and Master Supervisor at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, serving as Director of the Human Resources Department. With a Ph.D. from University of Science and Technology of China (2015) and postdoctoral experience at Chinese University of Hong Kong (2018-2020), he was promoted to professor in July 2021. His research focuses on atmospheric boundary layer detection, urban climate and environmental change, and aerosol-urban heat island-boundary layer interactions.

Professor Yang's research interests encompass urban climate and environmental change, aerosol-urban heat island-boundary layer interactions, wind profiler lidar boundary layer detection, artificial intelligence and weather forecasting, meteorological big data fusion and assimilation, satellite remote sensing cloud precipitation, aerosol-cloud-precipitation interactions, clean energy forecasting, transmission line icing forecasting, forest and grassland fire monitoring, and typhoon-ocean interactions. His work bridges fundamental atmospheric science with practical applications in meteorology, forestry, power grids, and ports.

His recent publications demonstrate strong trends in urban climate research, particularly examining urban heat islands, boundary layer dynamics, and climate change impacts using advanced remote sensing and AI techniques. The research spans multiple disciplines including atmospheric physics, climate science, environmental health, and public policy, with a strong emphasis on real-world applications and interdisciplinary approaches.

He leads the Atmospheric Boundary Layer Detection and Urban Climate and Environment Research Group, which focuses on interdisciplinary research in atmospheric physics, applied meteorology, climate change, and atmospheric environment to address urban climate and environmental challenges in China's urban agglomerations.
