Dr. Yang Yu is an academic in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Faculty of Engineering. He specializes in Structural Engineering and Construction Materials with a strong focus on interdisciplinary research bridging civil engineering with artificial intelligence and machine learning.
His primary research interests include:
- Sustainable construction materials
- Digital transformation of civil infrastructure
- Smart materials for resilient structures
- Concrete Mix Design
- Structural Damage Identification and Condition Assessment
- Evolutionary Optimization and Machine Learning applications
Dr. Yu serves in several prestigious editorial roles including Associate Editor of Frontiers in Materials (IF: 3.985), Editorial Board Member of Science Progress (IF: 2.6), and Youth Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials (IF: 4.5).
