Yang Alice Cheng

Alice Cheng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at North Carolina State University's College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, with a secondary appointment as Adjunct Professor at the Poole College of Management. She holds a Ph.D. from the Missouri School of Journalism and an MBA from the Crosby MBA program, where she received an outstanding academic award.

Her research focuses on three interconnected domains:

• Social media and artificial intelligence applications
• Crisis communication strategies

With over 130 publications in top-tier journals, her work demonstrates consistent productivity in communication science. She has secured $1,160,749 in research funding as PI or co-investigator, including a $1 million NSF grant and support from the Caterpillar Foundation.
