Yamila Verdecia Reyes

Prof. Yamila Verdecia Reyes is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Organic Chemistry at the University of Havana and a member of the Research Group (SOAN-UH) at the Laboratory of Organic Synthesis. Her research focuses on designing and synthesizing multifunctional molecular blocks for medicinal chemistry applications, particularly in neuroprotective agents for neurodegenerative disorders. She collaborates with multidisciplinary groups to develop innovative molecular entities for the Cuban pharmaceutical industry.

Her work has contributed to patents in neurodegenerative disorder treatments. She is affiliated with the HORIZON TMA MSCA Staff Exchange project ENRICH and is part of the Laboratory of Organic Synthesis. Contact: yverdecia@iciq.es.
