Yakov Diskin is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering within the School of Engineering at the University of Dayton. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton, and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Old Dominion University.
His research focuses on computer vision applications including object detection, 3D reconstruction, aerial tracking, and image enhancement. He specializes in algorithms for aerial surveillance, aero-optics simulation, and atmospheric characterization. Dr. Diskin has extensive publication experience with 51 publications in signal processing and computer vision.
He teaches courses including EGR 203: Electronic Circuits and ECE 595: Advanced Image Processing. His professional activities include serving as technical reviewer for multiple journals including the Journal of Electronic Imaging and Optical Engineering.
